Nachos
Today in class we made nachos. I think we may have toasted the chips for to little time. We made the sauce really well and it was the perfect texture. It was really good to have for lunch. It was really fun making the sauce in the saucepan, especially melting the cheese.
Chocolate Truffles
Today we made chocolate truffles. They were really good! We could have crumbed the biscuits a little bit more though. Other than that they were really successful.

Muffins from mars
Today it was my assessment and my muffins were the muffins from mars. My three ingredients were mini mars bars, cocoa powder and white chocolate buttons. I mixed the cocoa powder in with the mixture first, then when everything was nearly all mixed in I added my white choc chips. While my muffins were in the oven I was experimenting with how to melt the mars bars (actually a lot harder than I thought) eventually I found a great way and my melted mars bars had a beautiful smooth texture. I also melted the remainder of the white chocolate. The sauce was drizzled on to of e cooked muffins. It set and tasted really good!
White rabbit muffins
Today it was my partners assessment, and she made white rabbit muffins (raspberry and white chocolate). It was really hard, because I had never added fruit to muffins before, and I was a bit worried at first, as the mixture looked a bit strange. In the end though they tasted amazing! She did a really good job.
Choc chip muffins
Today as a practice for the assessment we made chocolate chip muffins. It really helped me to get used to the recipe we were using, And showed me how and when to add extra ingredients. In the end they were huge and tastes really good!
Tacos
Today we made Mexican beef tacos. It was my first time using the kitchen's frying pan, and it was really fun! The mince was amazing and even though it wasn't from the packet it was still amazing. We had to add some extra water to the mince though, as it was a bit dry at first.
Pizza!
Today we made pizza. On mine, one half was Hawaiian and the other was a mixture of feta, capsicum, and olives. My pizza was really good, and it taught me to always check the oven, in case the pizza burns!
Fruit salad
A couple of weeks ago we made fruit salad. It really improved my knife work. Me and my partner put all the ingredients in, and it tasted really great! It was lovely for morning tea. I learnt that putting lemon juice on apples and bananas stops them from going brown.

Mini quiches
Today we made mini quiches in class. They were probably the most fun of the recipes.we used the oven again to bake them. I had never made quiche before, so it was a new experience.
After they finished cooking we cut up the chocolate slice. It tasted great! I had them for morning tea, and the quiches for lunch.
Chewy chocolate slice
Today we made chewy chocolate slice. It was the first time I used the oven in the hospo kitchen. It was very different to my one at home, so it took a while to figure it out. We put the mixture in the oven and made the icing. As we took the slices out of the oven they smelt great! We then had to straight away pour the icing on, and leave it to set overnight. We will try them next lesson.
Pike lets
Today we made pike lets. I learnt how to use an electric fry pan. The first time did not go well because we did not put enough oil on the pan. The other ones worked out fine, and they tasted great!

Bruschetta
Today we made bruschetta in class.
I put all the ingredients on mine. We learnt how tho use a sandwich toaster but I squished my toast.
We used tomatoes, boconcini, tomato pesto, basil and Turkish bread. To start we brushed the slices of bread with oil and rubbed garlic on it. Then we toasted the bread and spreaded the tomato pesto on it. Then we chopped the ingredients and put them on the bread. They ended up delicious!

Smoothies
Today we made smoothies in class.
Hera and I made strawberry and mango smoothies.
We chose to put honey in ours.
It ended up tasting delicious, and most likely one of the best smoothies I've ever had!
I learnt we're everything it kept in the kitchen, and that its easier to put the blender on the ice setting
To blend smoothies. We also learnt ho the washing up works in the kitchen.
